Established in 2011, Shutt'er Down Ranch has been a stalwart provider of pesticide-free goods, specializing in organic produce and becoming the leading distributor of Orpington Chickens in Texas. In 2016, their journey took an unexpected twist when they welcomed Girty, initially thought to be a miniature pig but later revealed as a full-sized potbelly pig. Despite Girty's passing in December that year, her legacy lives on in the form of Girty's Haven, a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating animals with medical needs, with proceeds from local farm-to-table restaurant partnerships contributing to their mission.
Girty's Haven strives to provide essential vet care and find forever homes for these animals, a cause supported by satisfied customers who appreciate their vital work. If you're interested in visiting or learning more about Shutt'er Down Ranch, you can find them at Munzee Marketplace or contact them directly for farm tour inquiries. Please note that their CSA page hasn't been updated since August 2015.
