Karnack is a community that is unincorporated. It is located in northeastern Harrison County. The town has gotten its name after Karnak Temple Complex that is located in Egypt. In the 1890s the coterie was well known for shipping cotton. Karnack’s post office opened up in 1898. Around Caddo Lake. The establishments’ population was around 100 in 1915. The population then grew and peaked at around the 1940s. With 850 residents. Karnack is served by its own Independent School District. Karnack has a humid subtropical climate. Caddo Lake was one of the biggest natural lakes in Texas before Caddo Dam was constructed in 1900. Made it bigger.
