Kempner is a city located in Lampasas County in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the town’s population was 1,089. As stated by the U.S Bureau the total area of the city was 2.2 square miles, all of it being land. Kempner is distributed by Lampasas Independent School District. The town’s altitude goes up to 866 feet. The original area was called The Picket Valley, as there were a number of people named Pickett back then. The Pickett cemetery is still just west of Kempner. The town was incorporated in 1997. Kempner is placed at the intersection of Ranch Road 2313, and the U.S Highway 190.
