Cactus Land Brewing Company was named after the prickly pear cactus growing on the 7-acre property it is situated on. Husband-and-wife Dustin and Erica Teague started, just like other brewers before them, with homebrewing. And like other brewers, they have had hits and misses. “The first brew was awful,” recalls Erica during an interview, and the cleanup as Erica described it seemed brutal. Determined, they doggedly continued, and eventually, started winning homebrewing competitions. Finally, with their Texas license approved on June 2016, they started building their brewery. Since their initial opening, they’ve added a stage, a covered patio, and fenced in a large open area for kids.
