The “Tupps” in TUPPS Brewery is Tupper Patnode, its co-founder, head brewer, and half of a two-man partnership. Its other half is co-founder Keith Lewis, a sales and marketing guy. Together, they blend art and science, and sprinkle in some business savvy to run a successful brewery. They start with great beer, which accounts for the artistic side, and use the senses to create, validate, and refine the beers. The scientific side comes in “to ensure quality and consistency in the brewing process”. A brewery is a business, however, and needs business smarts. For TUPPS, that means using management tools to streamline operations or taking in an excellent distribution partner. It seems Keith and Tupper perfected beer brewing. Steam Theory Brewing Company offers an elevated craft experience with their scratch kitchen, in house artisanal craft beers, full service bar and wine list. This brewpub in Dallas features fresh signature cocktails. Their award winning brew master creates beers that rotate seasonally and compliment their seasonal “Modern American Cuisine.” The decor inside is vintage industrial with a Steam Punk twist. Their pooch friendly patio has a lovely view of the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge in the re-invigorated Trinity Groves/West Dallas area. They have an immersive environment where people can enjoy food and beer that are not only intertwined in themselves, but also with a goal of educating folks on where they came from as an industry as well as where it will take them in the future. They are open 11 am on Mondays.

Founded in 2010, Peticolas Brewing Company is a family owned, award winning, and independent craft brewery, serving carefully handcrafted beers in Dallas and Fort Worth area. Behind this successful brewery are “honest, friendly, down-to-earth brewers” delivering world class passion in a glass. They have a laid-back, 3-level taproom, offering a rotating list of homemade craft brews. Their most popular beers are “Velvet Hammer imperial red ale, Golden Opportunity kolsch-style ale, and Sit Down Or I'll Sit You Down imperial IPA,” available in four-packs of 16-ounce cans exclusively from its taproom in the Design District. They also offer growlers and crowlers of draft beer to-go. Peticolas Brewing Company also have games for all ages, ping pong, football, board games, TVs, and they welcome people to either bring/order in food or from rotating food trucks.

ETX Brewing Co. is the brainchild of the Gilstrap brothers. Brian is “always on the go”, while Matt prefers a more laid back approach. Despite the differing philosophies on life, they agree on one passion – making exceptional beers. In January 2017, they opened the family-owned microbrewery with the aim to make “a positive impact on the community”. The brewery was a big hit but had limited space. It also housed the brewery’s production facilities. In the spring of 2018, barely a year after opening, they expanded the brewery to the rest of the building and called it The Porch. It features a second taproom, more options for food and beer, a bigger space for live entertainment, and various games. Both spaces continue to support the local community of Tyler with art hanging on the walls created by a rotating set of featured monthly artists. They serve coffee by a local provider, and music from local artists.

Located in the heart of Oak Cliff in historical Tyler Station, Oak Cliff Brewing Company is a production brewery and taproom that offers “fresh and high quality craft beers.” The brewery sits in a 110, 000 square-foot industrial space that has been re-purposed into a co-working haven for creatives, artists and, of course, craft brewers. They have an interesting lineup of craft beers including their core beers - “two lagers, a saison and an IPA” which are truly promising!
