Watonga Cheese Factory prides itself on its 80-year old tradition to produce rich, all-natural, and handmade cheddar cheese that is so full of flavor. It was originally founded in 1940 in Watonga, Oklahoma. This is where the business got its name. When the tropical storm Erin hit Watonga in 2007, their factory was torn off and the whole building was condemned. The owners then decided to re-establish the factory in Perryton, Texas, where “they still use the original equipment” and use the exact same recipes. To date, they are known for serving “the best cheese you will find anywhere.” In addition, the factory has a retail store where you can purchase all of their natural cheddar cheeses. They also sell cheese curds along with roughly 50 different kinds of other manufacturer’s cheeses. Thus, we highly recommend you stop by. It's definitely worth the trip!

Wenzel LoneStar Meat Company is an artisan producer, butcher, and store in Hamilton, Texas that was founded in 2003. Owned and operated by Kent and Carrie Wenzel, LoneStar Meat Co. is based on the fundamental principle of processing and retailing the finest quality meats and cheeses in Texas. This company is also an active member of the Texas Bison Association, the Texas Association of Meat Processors, the American Association of Meat Processors, the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Department of Agriculture GoTexas program.
Nonetheless, it's an awesome place with "great food & atmosphere!" The "pork sandwich and potato salad" is amazing; the "chicken salad and bacon deviled eggs" are "great;" And, the "Reuben and chicken pot pies" are top-notch! Plus, these "awesome sandwiches and great meats, cheeses, and food" are worthy "to take home" as well. But, that's not the best part yet, especially if you're looking for value for money. They have lunch specials every day that's so affordable yet mouth-watering! There's Bison Bacon Burger every 1st Monday of the month, Greater Tater on Wednesdays, Pork Butt, and Special Pit Smoked Rib Plate on Fridays & Saturdays.  Thus, it's "always" best to "try to stop here," especially when you're "on the way to Austin." Highly recommended!

Even the editor of the AOL Food Page selected Whitson’s as her number one pick for the first day of the three-day event. The editor told them "You had me when you lifted the lid on your pot of chili” which only show how gratifying their chili products are. They have also won a Golden Chile award, twice, already. The jerky is slow smoked for over 12 hours, cut by hand, seasoned with a short list of simple ingredients and vacuum packed. For years, travelers through the Texas Hill Country have heard "if you're going through Johnson City, you have to stop at Whittington's." that’s why they become a traditional stop for many families. They have a sampling table, where you get to try all of the fantastic jerky recipes and a few jarred goodies like the Peach Cobbler in the jar!

Wild & Well is a small kombucha brewery that is owned and operated by a young couple in the heart of the Texas Hill County. They are known for consistently making the “best kombucha”; they use simple quality ingredients that are then paired with healthy active cultures. This company currently offers five “amazing” flavors including original, ginger, blueberry, Fredericksburg peach, and ruby red grapefruit; and, all of them make a “nice addition to the tool kit of healthy happy gut choices.” And not only that, these kombuchas are “wonderfully refreshing” as well, especially the “grapefruit!” You will also “love the ginger and the peach” variety as they’re “sparkling and refreshing” at the same time. But, if you’re more of an old-school type of person, we recommend you go for the original flavor. You can order via their website or you can find them at select farmers’ markets and grocers nearby.

On weekends, they also host a small farmer's market, where they showcase other craft vendors, "artists and food makers." They've got "fresh vegetables, meals prepared on-site, fresh baked goods, many different items for purchase, and friendly people!" Also, their "fresh micro herbs are fresh and delightful, colorful, and downright delicious. Hands down to quality." They also sell a "Buddha Bowl" that's "packed full of all the makings for a lovely salad. The edible flowers were such a nice touch." You've also got "to try the cinnamon rolls" as there are "such wonderful things about" them. Overall, if you "want the best in East Texas," this farm is your way to go. It's a "small place" that creates a "big impact." Catch them on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
