"Located just east of Bandera, Hill Country Cellars Winery is  family-run winery that has a fun, relaxed wine bar atmosphere to allow you to sit and sip for a while in a cool welcoming space". They have a selection of "very good wines with a great story of how they started". Even if you have "have never been a wine fan", once you "tried their Black Spanish Lenoir", you "will go back". You will "love this wine! It's bold, very flavorful and tickles the sides of your tongue perfectly!" "Rose of Shiraz and Gillys Symphony" are other "outstanding" wines too. Aside from "cheese tray" and "tapas to pair with your favorite selection", they also "have a fun area in the back to play washers and horseshoes and live music sometimes".

Hilmy Cellars

Hilmy Cellars has an online reservation especially for parties of 6 or more.  They also accept walk-in guests but may experience a short wait during peak times, especially on Saturdays. Visit and experience the taste of "great wines" for "real wine lovers". "They're on the dry side, and there's plenty of character to them without their being distracting in a meal". "The Tempranillos are best here along with Sangiovese and other Spanish/Portuguese varietals". If you like to pair good food with your wine tasting experience, "they also have a chef that makes delicious charcuterie plates to go with the wine". Also, "they usually have live music on the weekends and a gourmet food truck on-site".

Inwood Estate Vineyards

Inwood Estate Vineyards is a pioneer in Tempranillo growing. They are "one of the first to figure out that wine from Texas can and should be high quality". "If you are looking to taste some of the best wine in the world, you need to make this your first stop". You will have a "tasting and history lesson". Even if you are "not a fan of the Chardonnay", you will find their "Tempranillo and red blends" quite "fantastic". "If you're looking for the best dry reds" in Texas, "you'll find them" here. "The wine is top-notch" and it is a "wonderful place to enjoy fine glass of wine with friends".

Kai-Simone Winery

Kai-Simone Winery is a new addition to the Texas Hill Country wineries. This is located in Spring Branch, Texas along the Guadalupe River, very close to San Antonio. "Winery is easily accessible from Hwy 281 or Hwy 46!" You will have an "entire experience" that is "awesome" with "exceptionally divine" food and "the atmosphere is great". Their tasting room is opening in September 2019. Check their website and celebrate your next event. They are "taking event bookings now!" Send a message to them if you want to be the first to join the wine club. Space is limited. Their opening hours are Thursday to Saturday, 12-4 PM.

Kerrville Hills Winery

You will have a "wonderful experience in a beautiful setting at the Kerrville Hills Winery". Their "tasting room is very nice on the inside and there is always a breeze on the porch of this hillside location". Their staff is also "very knowledgeable" and "is incredibly warm" and will make you "feel right at home". They have a "great selection of wines". You will find "the wines are fantastic, particularly the Gold Cab and Our Song". They are "conveniently close" to "several hotels" so "while in Kerrville", visit the winery. You will find them situated at the top of a hill high above Kerrville and the Guadalupe River Valley.

Kuhlman Cellars

Winery in Stonewall -

"If you are passing through Fredericksburg (about 1.5 hrs outside of San Antonio) recommend stopping at Kuhlman Cellars for a tasting". Its "location has a really unique feature in its rooftop deck" with a "view and breeze" that are so "lovely". "The wine tasting" is "very enjoyable" and it "comes with food pairings" that are "spot-on with the wine". The sommelier is very "knowledgeable" and the wines are "impressive and the savory bites" will "enhance the experience". Even if you are "not a wine drinker", you will "absolutely" be able to "love their white wine, Calcaria". You may even end up joining their "wine club on the spot" with "no pressure to do so".

La Cruz de Comal Wines

You will "loved the location" and the "natural wines" when you "visit a unique winery in the hill country of Texas" that is the La Cruz de Comal Wines . The "prices seemed to be pricey but once you do the wine tasting, you'll know why". All their wines which are made as "a hobby" are "natural". There are "no additives" and perfect for "anyone who wants to taste" a "real wine". In 2012, the tasting room opened on the estate vineyard in Comal County, Texas. "The tasting room looks like a little cottage nestled in the French countryside". The owner "doesn't filter so the wines are a bit hazy and have some sediment/yeast on the bottom", the wines "ferment from wild yeast/bacteria on the grapes and whatever bacteria is in the HillCo air" and "this gives the wines an obvious farmhouse character (mild funk/horsey, slightly sour)". If you want to have an "excellent experience", this place is "definitely worth the drive out to Canyon Lake".

Lara Vineyard

Lara Vineyard is the only vineyard in Bexar County. This is a "great small place to have some wine with your significant other or your friends". It is "a beautiful location for private events with wonderful wine and delicious brick oven pizza". "The views are awesome and there is always a nice breeze". Try the "Cabernet Sauvignon" which is "very light" and has "an excellent taste". You may even have "a chance to try their wine made from a hibiscus flower (no grapes)" which is "really good". They will make you "feel right at home" and they are "very educational" in giving "background on their wines".

Longhorn Cellars

Winery in Fredericksburg -

Opened in early 2018, "Longhorn Cellars owners Dr. Michael and Deanna Dickey are no strangers to wine". You will find "the tasting room" to be "lovely with cowhide chairs and decor". "Syrah, the Alicante Bouschet, and the Viognier" are just some of the "nice selection" of "their own wines, with interesting combinations of grapes". There is also "great live music" and "they even had a table of the most amazing homemade gumbo and beans'n'rice". Expect to see a Longhorn cattle and a white donkey when you "stop by for a visit and a tasting". You will not be "disappointed" because "their wines, staff and winery dogs make it feel like a home away from home".

Lost Draw Cellars

Lost Draw Cellars is "highly" recommended, "for those looking for a family joint without all the bougie vibe". You will enjoy "all of the wines" and will even "LOVED a new limited edition Tannat" that is "aged in bourbon barrels". "This is a very attractive venue that is a short drive from nearly anywhere in Fredericksburg". A truly wonderful experience with "top-notch service". "Hospitality, not snobbery" because even if you are not "members of their wine club", you will be "welcomed here". They also "specialize in some unusual varietals" that are also "yummy such as the Marsanne, Roussanne", and "Sangiovese". Also, "make sure to try the Tempranillo".

Lost Maples Winery

Lost Maples Winery is the first commercial winery and commercial vineyard in Bandera County. This is "an awesome destination" and the "drive to the winery off Hwy 337 is just beautiful". The place has "beautiful grounds, beautiful building", and "great seating area outside".  You can also "listen to the band" on their "small live music venue" that you can see "on the patio" which they have "every Saturday". For the tasting experience, "every wine" is "incredible" and "every wine" is "so full of flavor". An "excellent gem of a winery" for a tasting experience. "They have something for everyone" including "reds, whites" and even "topped by an outstanding Port".

Mendelbaum Cellars

Winery in Fredericksburg -

You must include Mendelbaum Cellars when you have a "weekend getaway in Fredericksburg" and "the wine here is TOP NOTCH!" It is "unique" because "it is Israeli" where you will be able "to taste Israeli wine". This is a "location" since it is "not just a winery because they also offer cabins for nightly rental". Its "owner is from Israel so the wine selection and olive oil selection is impeccable". Their "rotunda tasting room" is "gorgeous" and is "indoor with bars, live music, and a great atmosphere". They "offer a lot of options" and also have "Texas wines" which are "pretty good too". You also get to see "LLAMAS" on the "property".

Messina Hof Hill Country

Messina Hof Hill Country is also part of the Messina Hof legacy that began 40 years ago. There is a "great selection of wines". Their "dry reds are deep and flavorful with dessert wines to match along with a broad selection of unique whites and fancy wines as well". This is also a "pet-friendly venue, so your fur baby can enjoy sitting on the patio with you". You can also stay for a "few days" since there are "cabins" that are "available" and "for the RVers, this is a Harvest Host sight". "This winery is just GORGEOUS" and "it is seriously stunning" plus "their Ports are off the charts good!" Narrow Path Winery

Narrow Path Winery's commitment is producing exceptional wines that make you want to sit and savor. "No hoity-toity frills, just great wine, and genuinely authentic experience". They have two locations at which you can taste their wine. The main winery and vineyard are located just south of Stonewall at 6331 South Ranch Road 1623. The downtown Fredericksburg tasting room is located at 113 East Main Street. Visit them and you may end up "purchasing the 2017 Arris (75% Sangiovese, 25% Tannat)", a "surprisingly smooth and tasteful" wine. The "Dreamchaser Blanc and Dreamchaser (Merlot)" are also "reasonably sweet but also fragrant and floral". They also have "different blends of wine which are very unique and different compared to most of the Moscato found pretty much everywhere in Fredericksburg".

Newsom Vineyards

Established in 1986, Newsom Vineyards has always sought to produce the highest quality grapes in Texas. They are "located in a refurbished 1910 historic home" which is "on the main drag driving through tiny Comfort, Texas". The owners "are friendly and there is a nice courtyard with tables to enjoy a glass of wine". Their tasting room is "roomy", very "warm and inviting, rich in rustic wood". "If you want to avoid the crowds at the more popular wineries in the Fredericksburg area", then you should go to this "great place". There are "plenty to choose from" their wines and "quality is exceptional".

Pedernales Cellars

Winery in Stonewall -

Pedernales Cellars is located "about 5 minutes away from the main highway but still easy to find since is the only big thing on that road". The place is "about two miles from the main road into Fredericksburg so you don't hear the traffic driving by". This is a "more upscale stop with an incredible wine selection". You will love the "patio and scenic views" that "provide a chill vibe to enjoy a glass of wine". They are also "a family and pet-friendly establishment" since you can leave your "dogs on leashes" and they "are ok outside". Check out their website for the "live music" events which makes "the ambiance extra special".

Pontotoc Vineyard

Winery in Fredericksburg -

All of their wines are made with at least a portion of the grapes grown at Pontotoc Vineyard and are named after historic locations and geological formations in the Northern Hill Country. "The owners are beautiful" and "the location itself is so unique and gives you such a great glimpse into history". They have the "oldest building in the town and they have really taken such good care of it". The setting "definitely gives you the German vibe of the beer gardens". Their "Sangria" is "exceptional" and "ice-cold, tangy, not too sweet - perfect for a late summer evening sitting in their lovely Weingarten". The food pairings are "delicious" such as "pimento cheese and pecans" which are "very tasty". This winery "is a MUST stop when in Fredericksburg". A "great little hidden gem" which "is well worth the walk from the busy downtown shops".

Poteet Country Winery

Poteet Country Winery is "small yet well thought out business" is a "perfect spot to bring the kids to pick some strawberries when they are in season". You will have "a nice South Texas country feeling down here" especially "if you enjoy a nice sweet wine". The "quiet country drive" for "this trip is perfect" when you are "on the way to the Poteet Strawberry Festival". If you want to taste "fantastic" wines "made from fruits other than grapes", you will leave buying their "Strawberry, Mustang, Blackberry, and Peach" wines after "sampling a couple of their wines". It is also "sulfate-free" so "no headache" afterward. "You won't find any fructose in these wines either". Their "tasting room is interesting, rustic and has staff that makes you feel warm". This is a winery that really "demonstrates that you can make some fine fruit wines in the state".

Safari Winery

Safari Winery is "very well presented and woodwork detail is premium". You will be "surprised that they break from the norm of local wines and serve South African and Chilean wine". There are also "indoor and outdoor seating, up and downstairs and kids are welcome". Their wines are from the Western Cape region of South Africa and the Lontue Valley region of Chile. You will be "provided a great wine tasting experience" and get served with "delicious wines". You may end up having "new" favorite wines such as "the Carmenere and the Pinotage". They also have "excellent" food pairings such as "cheese and meat platter" plus "the music on weekends" is "great".

Saint Tryphon Vineyards

Saint Tryphon Vineyards is located "about 30 minutes north of San Antonio". There is a "quaint tin barn serving as the tasting room". Aside from having "creative styles and innovative approaches to winemaking" for a more "novel tasting experience", they also have "some really interesting Spanish and Italian styles". Their "outside patio is spacious and gives visitors a great place to relax". You should "try the wine tasting and choose for yourself what wines make you smile". You will find "wines here are smooth and with vivid flavors that linger like sweet memories". Their name is also based on Saint Tryphon (pronounced tree-fon), a third-century Christian martyr.
