Every First Fridays of the month (except in November) is a special day for Downtown Brenham. From 3:00pm to 7:00pm, the city holds its monthly Brenham Farmers & Artisan Market. The highlight, of course, are the products available from local farmers and artisans. There’s fresh homegrown produce and meats, and and various homemade products. Downtown Brenham First Fridays Farmers & Artisan Market is held on Baylor Street across the Courthouse Square and parking is available all around the square or on Vulcan and Commerce Streets - just one block from the market. You can browse the many shops or visit the restaurants nearby, too! South Brazos County Farmers’ Market is set up every Tuesday and Friday from 12:00 noon to 5:30 PM. This is set up in two different locations in College Station. At the Scott & White Clinic every Tuesday and at the Scott & White Hospital every Friday. Here, you can find farmers and growers selling fresh fruits and vegetables. There are potatoes, onions, squash, cucumber, carrots, and tomatoes here. There are also stalls that sell preserves and canned food. You can see jars of pickled figs, blackberry jam, sweet potato pineapple jam, cranberry apple jam, red onion jam, fiesta relish, green tomato pickles, and pickled carrots for sale here. You can also find homemade lemon pepper, candied lemon peel, honey, virgin olive oil, and even earthworm castings sold here. And if you ever need meat (pork, chicken, bacon, beef chuck roast), you'll find a vendor here selling those products.

The Farmers Market at the historic Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site is just one of the many attractions that greet visitors during the Spring/Fall months. This market is held at the grounds of the park’s Visitor Center, under the shade of live oak trees. Find local vegetables, fruits, snacks from food trucks, baked goods, and unique artisan items for sale. Market day is every 3^rd Saturday of the month from March to July and from September to November. Market hours are from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Tip: Washington on the Brazos State Historic Site Farmers Market is just one among many other attractions that make this historic site a popular Texas destination. It is held on the same day as the park’s “Living History Saturday” event. See staff and volunteers dress in period clothing for a glimpse of life in the Republic of Texas during the 1830s.
