Ms. Washington is a born and raised Austinite and a descendant of Black Freedman Farmers, whose agricultural traditions have been depended upon since the inception of Austin, Texas. On top of all that, she is a disabled combat veteran and mother of four, Tiffany prides herself on being a food justice warrior! All of her experiences has led her towards this point!

Down Home Ranch

Founded in 1989, "Down Home Ranch is a wonderful nonprofit that serves people with disabilities". "In order to fund their mission, they grow and sell beautiful flowers and plants in 11 commercial size greenhouses". Most of the employees in this place have Down syndrome, autism, TBI or another condition. This 410-acre, entrepreneurial farm and ranch, is also "open to the public for shopping". "Apart from their nursery, they have a gift shop full of handmade products by their residents, fresh chicken eggs, naturally raised Wagyu-Angus beef and more". When you are passing by "Elgin, Taylor, Lexington or Coupland area", stop by Down Home Ranch. "The drive out is beautiful and their location is definitely worth stopping in and checking out".

Drea Mc Drea Farms

Nestling at 4810 Travis Bend Lane, Drea Mc Drea Farms offers some of the "rarest breeds of poultry in the world, such as chickens, guineas, waterfowl, game birds", and so on. Their farming practices include "conventional and grass-fed". Moreover, they breed "Asils, Saipans, Welsummers, and Buckeyes". Currently, they are producing their own version of a meat bird. But, they are on hold for now as well as some other varieties. Eden East Farm

The farm, formerly known as Springdale Farm, is currently owned and operated by Glenn and Paula Foore. However, Eden East, the restaurant situated on the farm, is now under the management of Chef Sonya Coté and David Barrow. Originally established by the Foores in 2009, Springdale Farm boasted a beloved vegetable stand that was a favorite among East Austin locals. In 2013, Sonya and David introduced a restaurant on the farm, taking the farm-to-table concept to new heights. In early 2018, the Foores decided to sell the farm to a developer, leaving Sonya and David as the sole proprietors. Despite these changes, Eden East has maintained its farm stand and restaurant operations. They have also continued the popular farm tours initiated by the Foores. Located a mere 3 miles from downtown Austin, the farm remains a highly sought-after destination. When asked about the farm and restaurant's future in light of the upcoming development, David's eyes gleam with anticipation, suggesting exciting times ahead.
