Clark brothers Patrick and Forrest and their best friend from high school Marco Rodriguez started brewing in 2008. After winning numerous awards in brewing competitions, the three decided to dive in and open “the brewery of their dreams”. They eventually quit their jobs and pooled their savings, and with help from outside inventors, opened in April 2015. Many breweries usually locate themselves in industrial parks on the outskirts of town. Zilker Brewing Company, meanwhile, is on East 6^th, which makes it an ideal urban craft brewery and taproom in “the heart of East Austin”. They currently have a lineup of four "mainstays" and about 15 seasonal brews. To sample their delicious beers, proceed to the brewery's “sleek and industrial” taproom. Adelbert’s Brewery is an award-winning microbrewery in Austin. Established in 2011 and named after founder Scott Hovey’s brother, George Adelbert “Del” Hovey, the brewery imbues all its brews with Del’s spirit of adventure and love for travel. The brewery is proud of their hands-on brewing process which uses only quality ingredients, and several of their brews have won many awards. There are year-round mainstays, fruited brews, and limited releases; some varieties are available in cans. Check out their very informative website. They tell you what’s available at the taproom and their suggested perfect pairings. You can learn all about Del’s travels that inspired many of their brews’ names and flavors, too. They have a partner food truck for the month to cater to customers' munchies. Tours of the brewery are by request only.

Quickie Pickie 11th Street is “your go-to place” where you can eat, drink, grab a take away and shop. A "neighborhood institution for more than 25 years," has been newly updated to match the changes of 11^th Street through the years.  This part-convenience grocery, part-café, part-beer joint can cater to anyone and everyone “morning, noon and night.” Quickie Pickie offers a “perfect East Austin vibe” along with a “great wine and beer selection.” Whatever the reason for every visit, Quickie Pickie got you covered: “fast when you’re in a hurry and chill when you want to hang out.”

Austin Beerworks' four co-founders believe that “beer brings people together”. To this end, they established Austin Beerworks so “people (will) have a better time”. Austin Beerworks beers are only sold within about 50 miles of Austin, but the brewery is gaining national recognition. They recently made Forbes 11 Best Beers list in 2018. The brand started with their first release in April 2011. Initially raising the eyebrows of craft beer fans by having them distributed in bold, attractive cans, it went from a startup to “growing by over 180% each year”. Today, they have “core four” beers - Peacemaker, Pearl-Snap, Flavor Country, and Fire Eagle. In addition, they have a rotating set of seasonal beers, and the Heavy Machinery seasonal IPA series. They also lay claim to a world's first - the 99-pack - a marketing gimmick to promote their Peacemaker "Anytime Ale". In 2016, Austin Chronicle dubbed them “the new official beer of Austin”. Founded in 2012, Pinthouse Pizza is a brewpub that offers a great selection of “delicious and unique handcrafted beers and pizzas.” They make their own hop-forward craft beers, brewed in-house, and also features a great selection of guest craft beers on its 45 taps. The menu is not only made up of its classic and specialty pizzas, it also offers its signature “Off the Map Pies” and an array of tasty salads, appetizers and desserts. They were named Austin’s Best Brewpub and Best Food & Beer Spot of 2013 and won a Great American Beer Festival. They also received Bronze Medal for its Blind Jake Porter in 2013, and a Bronze Medal for its Jaguar Shark Bourbon Barrel Age Stout in 2014.
