Cycler’s Brewing

Craft Brewery in Montgomery - 14.00 mi

According to Cycler's Brewing brewmaster and founder Clay Wick, “cycling and craft beer are kind joined at the hip”. After all, many look forward to a refreshing drink at the end of a long ride. Clay, who once worked for Coors, got “enthralled” with his first taste of craft beer, and subsequently fell in love with the many varieties available. It was then that he knew that he wanted to be a part of the creation process. Located inside the Sam Houston National Forest, Clay, his wife Tina, and the other owners of Cycler’s named the brewery after the sport popular in the forest. Their beers have cycling themes such as the cleverly named Ryed Hard. There’s also the DeRailleur, referring to the “mechanism that transfers the chain from one set of gears to another”. Together with the seven core beers, they also have a set of limited-release barrel-aged beers.

Tree Farm Brewing

Craft Brewery in College Station - 25.65 mi

Tree Farm Brewing takes its name from its original location: a choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm in Navasota owned by Josh’s parents and lovingly referred to as the "Tree Farm". In 2013, the brewers premiered a small batch “India Pale Ale” as their first official beer at Briarcrest Country Club. The IPA is representative of the hop-forward beers that are the brewers’ favorite, but their line-up is also set to include batches of “American Wheat, Blonde, and Pale ales.” The goal with each batch is to create a beer that is flavorful and aromatic, but also finely balanced and approachable. Whether you favor a quaffable American wheat or a bright, citrusy IPA, Tree Farm will have something to show you.

B-52 Brewing

Craft Brewery in Conroe - 27.58 mi

B-52 Brewing has an extensive list of craft beers that “push beer brewing into unexpected and surprising territory”. With 19 beers currently on the menu, the brewery’s craft beers are not the only attraction that brings people to their 7-acre location. Co-founders and brothers Chad and Brent Daniel made sure that, when they opened in 2014, their passion for craft beers is evident in each brew. Their unique creations, however, reach new heights when paired with the stunning surroundings. The brewery is located near a national park and the setting is “park-like” amidst towering trees. There are ping-pong tables, live music, and a food truck or three. There’s indoor and outdoor seating in their taproom, and wine, lemonade, or house-made root beer is available for those who didn’t come for the beer. Supervised kids and leashed dogs are also welcome.

Blackwater Draw Brewing Co.

Craft Brewery in Bryan - 28.97 mi

Texas now has plenty of brewpubs, but when Blackwater Draw Brewing Co. (aka BWD) opened in Northgate in College Station, it was the first in College Station. In November 2013, BWD stayed ahead of the trend by opening even before Houston had its first brewpub. Just after their second anniversary in December 2015, they opened their second location in historic downtown Bryan. They closed the Northgate College Station location in mid-2018 because of rent and property taxes, but continue to operate the Bryan location. Their love for coffee made them create their first signature brew, a coffee porter named Contract Killer. Since then, they’ve added Mulligan (a German style Kolsch), Border Town (a Mexican style lager), and Hazy Lady (a New England style IPA) in their lineup of year round beers. The brewery also produces seasonal beers. Visitors can also check out the taproom for one-off specials. With a 20 bbl Brewhouse system, they are gearing up to supply the Brazos Valley area.

Lone Pint Brewery

Craft Brewery in Magnolia - 29.02 mi

A proud member of the Texas Craft Brewers Guild, The Lone Pint Brewery is a family owned business, dedicated to creating “distinctive local Texas ales that are tasty, hoppy, and quaffable.” It started as a dream shared by brother and sister, twenty gallons at a time, in a two car garage. After perfecting the recipes, choosing the yeast strain, and fine tuning the water chemistries, Lone Pint Brewery was opened in 2012. They use raw whole cone hops for bittering, flavoring, aroma, and dry hopping in their brews. However, an equally important ingredient is the “renewable energy that powers the Brewery.” They offer a selection of their core brews, limited releases, and the “Zythophile Lone Hop Series” where each batch uncovers the true essence of the hop.

Southern Star Brewing

Craft Brewery in Conroe - 30.21 mi

Established in July 2007, Southern Star Brewing Company proudly became Texas' pioneer in canning craft beer. With signature brews that exude quality, they've forged a stellar reputation in the craft brewing scene. The brewery's immense popularity led to the creation of a custom-built facility in 2016, nestled on a sprawling 13-acre wooded property. Here, you can enjoy an exceptional taproom overlooking the production brewhouse, an inviting outdoor Biergarten with live music, and even a disc golf course. Crafting a diverse range from pale ales to stouts, their notable labels like Bombshell Blonde and Buried Hatchet Stout are beloved far and wide. Experience Southern Star Brewing Company's craft beer excellence!

Copperhead Brewery

Craft Brewery in Conroe - 32.67 mi

Copperhead Brewery is a Conroe-based family-owned craft brewery. Its owners are Seth Earnest, his wife Alicia, and his dad, Mark. The brewery’s name comes from the copperhead snakes common in the Montgomery County area. Whenever possible, beer names at the brewery take on a snake-themed name. Examples include their year-round beers Medusa (a Belgian dark strong), Striker (an American IPA), and Black Venom (their popular Imperial Stout). Seasonal beers are also available such as the farmhouse ale Sidewinder Saison. The brewery prefers “big, aggressive beers” and believes that one “(doesn’t) have to do a light beer to be successful”. This “aggressiveness” shows in their popular t-shirt merchandise featuring an angry-looking copperhead snake. At the brewery, guests can enjoy a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The indoor area features an air-conditioned taproom. The outdoor area, meanwhile, has picnic tables and games, and can accommodate pets.

Stesti Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Lovelady - 37.95 mi

Stesti means “happiness” in Czech and Stesti Brewing Company hopes you can drink some from their glass or bottle. The brewery was originally called "Dej Bůh Štěstí" Brewing Company, or “God gives happiness”. The phrase is a traditional saying by Czech brewmasters. Owners Dennis and Ana Gore shortened it so it's easier to remember. The small family-owned brewery specializes in Czech-style beers. Master brewer Dennis is a surgeon and professor on most days, and studied his craft in Plzeň, Czech Republic under renowned Czech masters. Wife Ana is the brewery’s business manager. Unlike most breweries, they don't have a taproom. Instead, they only conduct tours and tastings at their beautiful property in Lovelady. They require a two-day advance notice, and there you can sample their flagship beers Pivo Pils and Bohemian Lager, and some seasonal varieties. Otherwise, check your local supermarkets for their bottled beers. Traditionally, Czech lagers come in bottles not cans.

Fire Ant Brewing

Craft Brewery in Tomball - 39.17 mi

It took quite a while for the owners of Fire Ant Brewing to have their dream brewery – almost eight years, they say. After getting approval from the city, they still had to wait some more for construction and a few setbacks. Everyone seems to agree, however, that the wait was worth it. A true brewpub, Fire Ant Brewing also features a restaurant and a bar patio that’s been voted #1 in Tomball. The brewpub serves the town known for its strong German heritage, and also the surrounding areas of Woodlands, Spring, Magnolia and the Cypress. With this in mind, the brewpub made sure to have a few German-inspired food and beers on the menu. Fire Ant is great for families and dog-friendly. Watch their social media pages for announcements on their happy hours and other events.

Wicked Boxer Brewing

Craft Brewery in Cypress - 42.63 mi

Wicked Boxer Brewing’s owners are fond of dogs, especially the boxer breed. With the black and white mug of a boxer as a logo, Cypress residents and brewery owners Jamie and Brian Cain envisioned a kid-friendly and dog-friendly brewery and taproom for local residents. They also wanted to create a “community-driven business”, which explains their successful Kickstarter campaign. One of their community projects include collaborating with Houston Boxer Rescue to help raise funds and hold adoption events. Combining their passion for craft beer and boxers, they named their brewery after the traits of their beloved breed – “playful, fun, entertaining, and of course oh-so-wicked!” Note: They are in the process of moving out of their Mueschke Rd taproom. Watch their social media pages for the grand reopening at 8190 Barker Cypress Rd. Suite 300.

Twisted Acre Brewery

Craft Brewery in Cypress - 42.86 mi

When Robert Brogdon and wife Nicole opened their brewery Twisted Acre Brewery and taproom in December 2018, it was the fulfillment of a dream. The couple had been homebrewing since 2012, starting with Nicole giving Robert a home brewing kit. Since then, they’ve enjoyed a reputation at local festivals with their beers. Despite an unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign, the couple went ahead with their dreams. They even quit their jobs to set up the brewery. “I told him if we waited until we had enough money to do this, we'd be waiting forever," Nicole says in an interview prior to the opening of the brewery. The brewery currently has a 3.5 BBL equipment. They would have wanted something larger if the Kicstarter campaign had been successful. For their beers, the couple focuses on “unexpected flavors”. They’ve incorporated “rich flavors like toffee and caramel”. A butterscotch cream ale, Buttercream, is one of their more popular beers.

Brazos Valley Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Brenham - 43.50 mi

Located in historic downtown Brenham, Brazos Valley Brewing Company is a five-man team of craft brewery enthusiasts. The team is composed of brothers Josh and Jeremy with longtime friends Nelson, Todd, and Richard. Their philosophy is simple: “We brew what we like and (we) want to share them with you!” Jeremy and Nelson started homebrewing their own beers, and not long after, Jeremy’s brother Josh and the others were into it as well. They officially launched their first products in late 2013. Their current lineup of beers include their bestseller Mama Tried IPA, and 7 Spanish Angels, a collaboration with Independence Coffee Company. They also offer the award-winning seasonal beer Silt Brown Ale, among other seasonal offerings. There's a line of products they call their B-Sides and Rarities as well.

Bearded Fox Brewing Co.

Craft Brewery in Tomball - 44.85 mi

Bearded Fox Brewing Co. is a craft microbrewery in Tomball that simply wants to create and serve great beer. The founders hope that when you drink their beer, you’ll feel good about it. That, for its founders, is the essence of a good beer. They also believe in sustainability and going local, which is why they source their ingredients from as many local sources as they can. And – they’ve kept it simple and local, too. Just beer and no food – they have local food trucks on rotation if you’re hungry.

You might wonder why they named their brewery and taproom Bearded Fox. It’s because the owners all have beards, and their wives they say, are foxes. Whether one believes that part or not doesn’t matter. They have been open since 2017 and they simply have great beer including four core beers and several on rotation.

Fortress Beer Works

Craft Brewery in Spring - 45.62 mi

Fortress BeerWorks based in Spring, Texas opened in mid-March 2019. Dion Billard was a homebrewer and friends Robert Fleming, John O’Hara, and Shawn Stasiuk used to hang around his garage for his beers. The four were friends at their day job. The brewery’s opening makes it Spring’s first and the 53rd for the Greater Houston area. The secluded but inviting taproom and brewery has over 6,600 square feet of space for guests. The indoor and outdoor seating areas easily accommodate over 100 people. There’s a fenced in playground for kids with plans to add more kid-friendly stuff. Food trucks will provide the food although guests are welcome to bring in their own. The brewery is also ideal for owners to bring their dogs. For options other than beer, the brewery has cider, root beer, and a selection of wines.

Huff Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Bellville - 49.43 mi

Huff Brewing Company is located in the small town of Bellville. Opened in 2012, husband and wife Ryan and Christine Huff own and operate the small brewery with a commitment to creating excellent beers. It is located about four miles from downtown Bellville. The brewery is a first for the town since Prohibition shutdown a brewery in 1918. Among its lineup of beers are the Huffmeister and Huff’s Original Amber. Both Ryan and Christine maintain their full-time jobs and share bar tending duties. This is why the taproom is only open on Fridays. The couple didn’t initially set out to establish a taproom. Instead, the plan was to offer their creations in Houston and supply bars and restaurants in the region. Tip: Occasionally, and sometimes by appointment, they might be open on a Saturday. They don’t serve food but check their Facebook page if a food truck is scheduled.
