Ascension Coffee Roasters began in December 2012, an “Australian style coffee shop” with simple European-café-type food and a laid-back, familiar atmosphere. Russell Hayward, experienced restaurateur, lifetime espresso coffee lover, and founder of Ascension, developed this concept with the simple goal of elevating the everyday American café experience. They focused on high-quality, farmer-focused coffee from all over the world. They spend much of their time sourcing the “world’s best coffee”, roasting it to perfection – enhancing their own characteristics and nuances – and brewing them with love for the customers. They have “friendly and attentive servers”. Ascension is full service coming by to refill drinks, take food orders, and check on you. The food and coffee are great, and they also serve wine! There’s a wonderful community table, and there are plenty of power outlets and room to spread out and get work done.
