Review of RR Wilderness Ranch by TexasRealFood

Motivated by the lack of high-quality food available, Marty and Stacy Rauchwerger started the RR Wilderness Ranch with land, fences, and three heifers. Through the years, they added more whenever they can afford it. They bought some weanling. Now, they have 70 and continuing to grow. In growing a ranch comes a lot of research, and what they liked best and currently implementing was from Joel Salatin's Polyface Farms, which involves humane treatment of animals.

Sustainable ranching, where the animals work together for the good of the animal and the good of the land. They are offering Black Angus Beef, and Pasture Raised Poultry and Eggs. Lamb is also available for a limited time. All of which were grass-fed, no hormones, no antibiotics, or steroids. One of their many happy customers said, "The beef melts in your mouth tender. The pricing is reasonable, they deliver and most importantly, they care about their livestock and their customers". Grass Fed / Pastured

The term “grass fed” (as opposed to grain fed) refers to meat obtained from cows that were raised on a diet of grass and other forage, such as clover; situated in pasture and, when fresh grass is unavailable, hay. This helps to denote the difference between livestock that has been raised in feedlots and generally fed a diet of soy and corn, versus animals that have had access to their natural feeding environment in pasture, which contains grasses, wildflowers, and herbs. This term overlaps with “pasture-raised” and will usually be seen together. Grass-fed beef is also believed to taste better, and be better for the environment, too. There are several organizations that offer a certification for Grass Fed, such as the American Grassfed Association, Certified Grassfed by A Greener World, and Pasture for Life, to name a few.

A set of dietary laws dealing with the foods that Jews are permitted to eat and how those foods must be prepared according to Jewish law. Food that may be consumed is deemed kosher. Although the details of the laws of kashrut are numerous and complex, they rest on a few basic principles.
