At Wholesome Farms and Gardens in Van Alstyne, you can buy pastured meat. They have pasture-raised pork, pasture-raised chickens, grass-fed & finished beef, and pastured eggs. Also, the farm sells a new heritage breed dairy for raw and non-homogenized milk products. Although not certified organic, they don't use pesticides and don't add preservatives or artificial flavorings to their products. Moreover, their animals eat non-GMO diets (mostly native prairie grass). In fact, they haven't had a sick animal to date that needed to take antibiotics. Furthermore, they sell at the Plano farmers market, but they also have a CSA program (ranging from $600-$6000 a year) that includes weekly deliveries to your homes.
