David Green founded the town and wanted to name it after himself, and the postal office authorities didn’t want to accept the town to be named after him because it is very similar to an already existing town named Greensboro. The community of Moscow was named after the capital of Russia. Moscow is located at the intersection of U.S Highway 59 and Farm to Market Road 350. Moscow is an unincorporated coterie situated in Polk County in Texas. The community’s population was around 170 people as of the year 2000. The community’s public education system is being provided by the Corrigan-Camden Independent School District.
