Staples is a city in northeastern Guadalupe County, Texas, United States. It has a population of about 220 and it incorporated as a city in 2008. That’s when they held their first election and the organizer of the incorporation become the first mayor in the history of this small city. The settlement of the community began in 1850s and it was named after an owner of a general store. Staple boasts a barber shop, a beauty salon and a café. Students living in Staples are zoned to schools in the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District.
