Sweetwater is a municipality in and the seat of Nolan County, Texas, United States. In 2010 when the last census of taken, the city had about 10.000 residents. The post office was started in Sweetwater in 1879. It quickly become a railroad town and it grew based on that fact. It has about 4500 households and an average family makes about $29.000. Sammy Baugh, Hall of Fame NFL and TCU football player played for the Sweetwater Mustang football team. Sweetwater is the namesake for the town in the 1968 Sergio Leone spaghetti Western film Once Upon a Time in the West.
