Winters is a city set in Runnels County in Texas. The first settlements of the area where Winters now is were in the 1880s. The families C.E. Bell and C.N. Curry were the first settlers of the area that was known as Bluff Creek Valley. The town was named after a local rancher and a land agent in the area named John N. Winters. The town’s post office was founded in 1891. The city’s population was 2,562 as of the 2010 census. The town has a total area of 2.9 square miles as stated by the U.S Bureau. The town’s public education system is being provided by the Winters Independent School District.
