These are the listings that don’t belong in any of the established Metropolitan Statistical Areas. They’re not part of any larger group, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. These are typically your small family-owned ranches, artisan food producers, and farmers markets in many of the smaller communities scattered around Texas that aren’t included in the Metropolitan statistical groupings. Some of the best food producers are found away from the big metropolitan areas so it is worth giving these smaller producers a try if you’re outside of the big 25 metropolitan areas.
