Neches Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Port Neches - 8.63 mi

Established in 2016, Neches Brewing Company is a craft brewery in the heart of downtown Port Neches which started in the garage of owner and head brewer, Tyler Blount. They offer over 70 different beers, including their own brews. They offer 20 taps and canned beer from all over the country, dry and white wine, as well as local wine from Winnie, Texas. If you're looking for a “laid back atmosphere with stellar in-house craft beer” then this is the spot. It’s fun, colorful and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It is definitely a great place to hang out with friends and family! They have live music on Thursday-Saturday and they occasionally have a food truck outside, but you can also bring outside food of your own into the brewery.

Devil and the Deep Brewery

Craft Brewery in Galveston - 76.04 mi

Opened in February 2018, Devil and the Deep Brewery was the second craft brewery to open in Galveston. The brewery’s opening was the culmination of founder Eric Walker’s efforts and dreams. A native of Tucson, Arizona, Eric first joined the Navy and then the Army. In the course of his military career, he eventually transferred to Fort Hood, and in 2011, moved to Austin. After volunteering in various breweries, he decided to open his own brewery in 2016. Along the way, he almost shuttered his plans because of a foundation problem with the first building he leased. As luck would have it, someone else offered him another lease, and the rest, as they say, is history. With its deep blue sea motif, the brewery specializes in Belgian and rustic ales. There are retro arcade video games lined up on one wall, and the climate controlled spacious taproom has picnic table seating. There’s art on the walls, too!

Beerfoot Brewery

Craft Brewery in Galveston - 76.75 mi

Calling itself a one-stop destination is probably an understatement for Beerfoot Brewery. This “one-of-a-kind venue” claims the title “THE place to enjoy beer”. It’s well-deserved. Located at the historic Seawall Boulevard of Galveston, the brewpub has over 30 draft craft beers on tap and over a hundred different bottles and cans. That should make someone’s idea of paradise. It has a great view of the Gulf, too! With a mission to “share with our guests our appreciation for craft beer and fine wines”, the brewpub strives hard to find the next great craft brewer and his beers. They’d like to be able to say – “we knew him when…” Sampling Beerfoot’s offerings will be easy despite the dizzying array of beers. They have a Beer Nut program that rewards you for simply tasting all the different beers!

Fetching Lab Brewery

Craft Brewery in Texas City - 77.85 mi

The owners of Fetching Lab Brewery are Brett Bray and Theresa Hutchings, but everyone knows that Bella is both mascot and CEO. Brett was a real-life NASA scientist while Theresa worked as quality assurance lead at one of world’s largest airplane manufacturers. According to Brett and Theresa, we can’t show Bella a ball or she’ll ask you to play “fetch” the whole day long. You see, Bella’s a Yellow Lab, and pretty much runs the whole place. She even gets to choose the pooch that’s featured in Fetching Lab’s lineup of delicious beers. Fetching Lab first started creating their beers in Alvin, Texas and sold their first kegs in 2015. In late December 2018, however, they expanded operations and have their own taproom in Texas City. They currently create five year-round “full production brews” that are available in other taprooms and four seasonal offerings. These are available only at their taproom or in limited quantities.

Galveston Bay Beer Company

Craft Brewery in Dickinson - 80.00 mi

Established in 2014, the Galveston Bay Beer Company is Galveston County’s largest brewery. At the time, it was also one of the first in the area. The interesting thing about the brewery besides its beers is its commitment to preserving Galveston County’s rich beer brewing history, which dates back to 1895. The company has artifacts related to the craft of beer brewing from the past 120 years. Their air-conditioned taproom at Dickinson is open daily. With at least 12 beers to choose from, some are exclusive to the taproom only. Opened in 2016, they “specialize in lighter style beers but dark beer fans can enjoy the Bull Shark, their Scottish ale". A blogger advises readers to ask their bartenders about “High Grade” and the beer's interesting backstory during the prohibition era.

Galveston Island Brewing

Craft Brewery in Galveston - 80.66 mi

Galveston Island Brewing’s Mark Dell’Osso established the brewery in June 2014. Mark is a former home brewer and tugboat captain who’s had stints with various breweries. Co-workers used to enjoy his homemade beers at after-work parties. A version of that popular home brew, Blue Bridge Hoppy Amber, won bronze at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival. His Tiki Wheat, the brewery’s bestselling flagship beer, and four other year-round staples, sustain the Galveston brewery’s “island vibes”. Besides brewing beer, Mark is also into boating, sailing, and surfing, which may explain his team’s pride in pacing their growth. He calls it “island time”, and prevents them from growing too fast. This explains why they’re more concerned with getting things right in Galveston and the surrounding areas rather than expanding to Houston.

Brigadoon Brewery & Brew School

Craft Brewery in Pasadena - 84.16 mi

The Brigadoon Brewery & Brew School attempts to recreate the "Scottish Renaissance brewpub". Located on the grounds of the Texas Renaissance Festival, it allows guests to step back in time and see "period specific" brewing equipment and techniques. This includes use of ingredients and recipes that would have been available during the 1400s through the 1600s”. Opened in 2008, the brewery uses modern equipment, too, but they try to remain an authentic and “unique living history demonstration” of techniques used during the Renaissance period. The brewery takes its name from the 1947 musical of the same name. The musical “centers (on) an enchanted village in Scotland, (and) features an array of traditional music and dance". Each year, at festival time from October to November, the team dons authentic period costumes to serve their beers. Check out Brigadoon's classes on craft beer brewing and join tours of the brewery during the festival. You can also find them at various other festivals around Texas.

Megaton Brewery

Craft Brewery in Kingwood - 84.59 mi

Located in Kingwood, Texas, The Megaton Brewery is a small craft beer producer and one of the top Houston breweries that offers a “great selection of craft beers” in their awesome taproom. Megaton’s Master Brewer, affectionately known as Captain Pint, began his journey of crafting his own brews in the early 1990’s. His brewing experience and culinary training led to years of experimental brewing well outside the boundaries of traditional beer styles. At Megaton Brewery, you can “experience, appreciate and enjoy their distinctive beer and atmosphere.” From the northeast side of Houston, they utilize their state of art 15 barrel brew house to create exclusive recipes using only the finest ingredients!

Saloon Door Brewing Co

Craft Brewery in Webster - 84.79 mi

Established in 2016, Saloon Door Brewing Company is the creator of several popular and critically acclaimed brews including “Tasty AF Peanut Butter & Chocolate Milk Stout, I Must Break You Russian Imperial Stout, Panhandler Pale Ale and many others.” They make their craft beer in house with a 10-barrel system using only the finest ingredients available. They also focus on sustainable sourcing, using local vendors, and making maximum efforts to keep carbon footprint at an absolute minimum. Their rustic, “old west taproom” is roughly 2400 sq ft that can comfortable fit about 150 people. They have a big board where you can see the available brews that changes weekly, but they usually have between 16-20 ice cold, delicious, craft beers available on tap and/or on nitro. If beer isn’t your thing, they also have a house red and white wine, hard cider, soda and water available for you!

Ingenious Brewing Company

Craft Brewery in Humble - 86.75 mi

Ingenious Brewing Company is by Mike Broderick, its head brewer, and Justin Gyorfi, urologist by profession. The brewery specializes in “small batch beers” that “diverge from traditional norms”. With 24 taps that tend to be “outside-the-box”, the brewery releases beers that “look awesome on an Instagram feed”. If demand is any indication, the beers are delicious, too. Less than a year from their first anniversary, the brewery is barely able to keep up with the demand and is eyeing to open a second location. The brewery specializes in “tart fruited sours, pastry stouts, hop-loaded IPAs, and milkshake IPAs”. Enjoy them at the 2,000 square meter air-conditioned taproom, possibly including the “colorful” Smarty Stone beers. This line of beers took inspiration from the colors of Marvel’s Infinity Stones. You’ll have to come often, though, since they rotate beers often. You might even see a favorite making a comeback.
