It can be found "in an industrial-looking strip mall" and "it could be hard to find if you aren't watching out for the signs pointing to the meadery". This is a "great place to relax" with "great service and super nice owners too". "If you have never tried meads before, this is the place to get your first and learn more about the process and how meads got their taste". Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages which is fermented from honey.  There are "dry, fruity, or hoppy meads" such as the "Ginger Bear" and "Raspberry Beret". They have "light, flavorful, gluten-free" meads such as the "Comb Over" and the "Bee Sting". You can bring a growler and discount its cost on your next refill. They offer flights too.

Bitter Sisters Brewing Company

Bitter Sisters Brewing Company is the only production brewery in Addison. An independent, family-owned craft brewery, it takes its name from the three "type-A McHugh sisters". Baby brother and wife are part of the business, too, as are the sisters’ husbands. Together, they own Bitter Sisters, and each doing his or her part so the company can produce award-winning craft beers. This makes the brewery and the taproom a real family affair, with beers that have memorable and distinctly female names like Hissy Fit, Cat Fight, Winter Bush, Girls Quad, Bitch Slap, Knock Out, and Busy Body. The brewery started coming together when Brewmaster Matt Ehinger married one of the sisters, Courtney, and quickly realized that beer – his home-brewed beer – made everyone less “bitter”. Intrinsic Brewing

Craft Brewery in Garland - 18.55 mi

Opened on the anniversary of the repeal of prohibition on December 5, 2015, Intrinsic Smokehouse and Brewery hopes to help in the continuing revitalization of downtown Garland. They aim “to serve our community by delivering products of quality, creativity, flavor, and intrinsic value.” Located in a beautifully renovated building, the brewery serves up about 30 different beers, including its own creations. Some beers are from local breweries while others are products of collaborations with other breweries. Their carefully selected menu of briskets and barbecues, of course, pair well with the brews. Four Bullets Brewery

Craft Brewery in Richardson - 18.67 mi

Four Bullets Brewery opened in May 2014 and takes its name from a Texas Hold ‘Em poker term meaning four aces. Owners and friends Andrew Smeeton and Jeff Douglas are both poker fans and former homebrewers. Drew, a native Englishman, and Jeff prefer to create handcrafted “English Ales with a Texas twist”. The brewery is Richardson’s first and fondly called “the smallest brewery in Dallas”. The brewery started with just four craft beer varieties when they opened, and now has over a dozen varieties. The owners like to say they are not in competition with big, large breweries. Instead, they wish to be known as “a neighborhood brewery catering to the Richardson area”.  With tasty offerings like their popular Royal Flush Red Irish-style pale ale, all Four Bullets beers have casino or poker-themed names.

Dirty Job Brewing

Craft Brewery in Mansfield - 20.12 mi

Dirty Job Brewing’s owners are husband and wife Derek and Lashawn Hubenak, and Derek’s best friend, Justin Watson. They named their brewery after the “dirty work” they did to get the brewery up and running. Fourteen months hence, after a modest start in 2017, the trio set out to expand their capacity in 2018. By The Horns Brewing

Craft Brewery in Mansfield - 20.15 mi

By The Horns Brewing opened in late January 2019, at The Backyard in Downtown Mansfield. The brewery is part of restaurateur Jason Boso’s latest project, and has brewmaster Justin Meyers at the helm. Ably assisted by Charli the “assistant brewmaster”, Justin currently has about seven signature brews. By The Horns shares common space with Tacos and Avocados, another of Jason’s restaurants. Together, the two businesses generate rave reviews from guests such as this: “Great tacos and craft beer!” Add to the lot Twisted Root (a burger place) and Hypnotic Emporium (everything ice cream), and you’ve got HEAVEN. The brewery and Tacos and Avocados share a common indoor seating space, but all four establishments share a large outdoor area. They are open daily and it’s family-friendly and very pet-friendly area. When you meet Charli, you’ll know why this particular establishment loves your pooches. There's live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm to 10pm.

Turning Point Beer

Craft Brewery in Bedford - 20.70 mi

The owners of Turning Point Beer had another name in mind for their brewery. Luckily, they settled on “Turning Point”, which appropriately describes the different milestones they accomplished to get where they are. These milestones, among others, include two of its founders working for “two of DFW’s most respected craft beer breweries” prior to putting up their own. They also had to win the support of the Bedford community, some of whom opposed the opening of the brewery. Despite the challenges, they finally opened on March 2018. The owners chose the Mid-Cities location because it “is where a lot of people live”. The brewery specializes in New England-style hazy beers, with one publication saying they put “unique spins on underrepresented beers”. The owners hope “to mark a ‘turning point’ for craft beer” in the neighborhood. By the way, you have six seconds to guess what the name of the brewery could have been.

Hop and Sting Brewing Company

Hop and Sting Brewing Company is the former Grapevine Craft Brewery and founded by its former brewers Brian Burton and Jon Powell. Between them, both Brian and Jon conceptualized many of Grapevine’s recipes during their time at the brewery. Brutal Beerworks

Craft Brewery in North Richland Hills - 23.06 mi

Brutal Beerworks owners Eric Johnson, Sallie McIntyre, and Jason Perez named their craft brewery after the “brutal” journey towards opening their dream business. Eric had been a passionate homebrewer and Jason is a professional brewer at another brewery. The two met, and with Sallie joining to do the stuff that neither wants to do, they were on their way to building their dream. Or so they thought. The dream took a “brutal” route including application delays due to the government shutdown. Fundraising and many other problems came their way. Finally, on Father’s Day 2019, they opened the brewery to the public and became North Richland Hills’ first brewery. The owners initially came up with a different name for Brutal Beerworks, but in the end, the name seemed fitting. Brutal, yes, but (or is it “and”?) it’s definitely good beer according to initial reviews. On a side note, Eric’s giving away free beer to the first person to give the original name they thought of for the brewery.
