Josh Hare initially pursued a career in triathlon before he founded Hops & Grain Brewing. For many months, he envisioned his dream brewery as he cycled past an Austin warehouse. As fate would have it, the property came up for sale and the rest, as they say, is history. He leased the property from the new owners, and started brewing his beers in 2011.
Today, Josh’s commitment to sustainability and community remains steadfast. The brewery donates a portion of its annual revenues to local environmental non-profits and supports local growers and producers. It also produces Brew Biscuits – the brewery’s brand of dog treats made from spent grains and other all-natural ingredients. The company has grown to include a second brewery and taproom location at 110 E Martin Luther King Dr in San Marcos, TX.
