Craft Brewery in Austin - 23.86 mi

Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches started in 2017 as a family-owned and operated kolache bakery, taproom, and retail craft beer shop. Founders and brothers Noah and Josh Lit introduced Austinites to their preference of downing their kolaches with their favorite beers. Batch's beer selection came from local craft breweries and European breweries. In addition, they also had cans and bottles from many breweries, and coffee for non-beer drinkers. After a couple of years just serving other breweries’ beers with their kolaches, the brothers collaborated with John Snyder and Heath Shuford. Together, they launched a 2019 Kickstarter campaign to start their own brewery. Batch has since released their first batch for their 2^nd year anniversary celebration in August 2019 – a “saison aged in Cabernet barrels with pink peppercorns, Texas wildflower honey, and dandelion”. They also sold Batch Bottle Club, Elite Brewery, and Beer for Life memberships, which ended in October 2019.

The Brewtorium

The Brewtorium in Austin opened in March 2018 with the team of Chris, Whitney, Kristie, and Dave on board. Chris and Whitney, a husband and wife team and the founders of the brewery, had their first date at a pub and shared a deep love for craft beers. With Whitney as CEO and Chris as Head Brewer, they’ve taken in Executive Chef Dave to pair German-inspired food to go with German-style beers, the style preferred by Chris who’s of German ancestry. Restaurant-veteran Kristie, meanwhile, completes the group as General Manager. The Brewtorium has a spacious taproom and outdoor patio in N. Central Austin. Order their Tangerine Milkshake IPA and give support to Mother’s Milk Bank, which provides “life saving breast milk to the most fragile babies in need”. You might want to pair the brew with the Deviled Eggs. We hear it’s simply delicious! The brewery also serves a selection of wine, cider, mead, and sake.

Hi Sign Brewing takes its name from Hi Sign Road in Lincoln, Montana. The name stuck because Marine Corps veteran Mark Phillippe, the brewery’s founder, spent time with his Dad in a little cabin off Hi Sign Road. It was there that he developed his love for craft beers. After his military stint, Mark found himself searching for his next path. Two mentors, both also in the beverage industry, convinced him to pursue his dream of building his own brewery. The brewery opened in 2017 with Andrew Shelton as head brewer. Andrew brings an extensive brewing background including stints at Texas and Florida breweries. Located in a 6,600 square feet warehouse and situated in a one-acre lot, the airy taproom has ample space for special events. While at the brewery, try the blond ale with “the perfect subtle amount of blueberry” Violet the Blueberry Blonde (5.1% ABV). It’s their bestseller. Austin Beerworks

Austin Beerworks' four co-founders believe that “beer brings people together”. To this end, they established Austin Beerworks so “people (will) have a better time”. Austin Beerworks beers are only sold within about 50 miles of Austin, but the brewery is gaining national recognition. They recently made Forbes 11 Best Beers list in 2018. The brand started with their first release in April 2011. Initially raising the eyebrows of craft beer fans by having them distributed in bold, attractive cans, it went from a startup to “growing by over 180% each year”.
