The US unincorporated community of Energy is situated in Comanche County in the state of Texas. The community was founded in 1896 and named by Charlie and Will Baxter after its energetic residents. Charlie and Will owned a store in the area and were perhaps in a position to know how energetic most area residents were at the time. A post office was opened in the area in 1896, with John Moore serving as its postmaster. Energy’s population was 67 in 1940 but had declined to 65 by 1990. According to the 2000 census, the community’s population remained at 65 in the year.
