Lorena is a city located in McLennan County in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the town’s population was 1,691. Lorena Westbrook was one of the early settlers’ daughter’s and she was the reason the city was named this way. It used to be called Aerl Station after the town’s founder’s son Daniel Aerl. The settlement of the city began in the 1850s. The city’s post office was granted in 1882. The town’s population is at its peak right now. The city itself is distributed by its own Independent School District. The U.S Bureau states that the town’s total area is 3.2 square miles.
