Dolce Neve - South 1st is the product of the passion, drive, and love for gelato of Francesca, her fiancé Leo and her brother, Marco! Francesca even trained at a prestigious gelato university and shop in Italy, then joining several gelato competitions. They thought of the name Dolce Neve, which can be translated to “sweet snow,” pertaining to their gelato being as natural as snow, and that the first gelato is made of snow, mixed with honey and fruit juices. This "award-winning, family-owned" shop serves about 12 to 18 gelato and sorbet flavors that are classified into: staples, rotating flavors, and seasonal flavors. Since their shop opened, they have created more than 300 different flavors. Dolce Neve's flavors are inspired by Italian traditions, from the ingredients they find at local farmers markets and “all the fantastic desserts” in Austin and around the world that they have eaten.
