The US city of Brookshire is located in Waller County in the state of Texas. The city’s population as per the 2010 census was 4,702. It was named after Nathan Brookshire, a major landowner in the area at the time. In 1835, as a captain in Texas’ army, Brookshire took part in the storming and eventual capture of Bexar. In 1893, John Kellner filed a plat for Kellner town after donating land for it. Similarly, in the same year, O. C. Drew and John Brookshire filed another plat for the town of Brookshire. Brookshire was incorporated in 1946. It comprised both the Brookshire/Drew and the Kellner plats.
