Higgins is a city set in Lipscomb County in Texas. The city was named after G.H Higgins who was a stockholder in the Santa Fe Railroad. As of the 2010 census, the town’s population was 397. The town was explored in 1886 but a school and a post office of the town were established two years later. The town’s population was at its best in the 1980s with around seven hundred residents, but it has since then diminished to present numbers. The city’s total area is 1.1 square miles as stated by the U.S Bureau. The city’s public education system is being distributed by the Higgins Independent School District.
