Kerrick is unincorporated and is located in Dallam County in Texas. The area was first settled in 1906. William Murdock first settled the area with his family. They built the coterie’s first school. The community was named after Harrison S. Kerrick, he was a railroad official. The town’s post office was built in 1933 and is still in use. During World War II, the community had the only deputed airport between Denver and Amarillo. The community’s population was at its peak in 1949. With an estimate of 100, but has since then diminished and is in recent years estimated to around 60.
