Lowake is an unincorporated community located in Concho County in Texas. The community is set beside Farm to Market Road 381 which is just north of Paint Rock which is the county seat of Concho County. The community itself was founded in 1909 between Miles and Paint Rock. Lowe and Schlake were the two farmers on whose land the community was established and are both the reason behind the community’s name. Even though the community is small, it was very well known in the 1960s because of the Lowake Steakhouse. In 2017. The steakhouse moved to a new location in Rowena.
