Mart City is located in McLennan and Limestone counties in Texas, US. At the census of 2010, it had a population of 2,209. Mart city’s total area is .3 square miles, all of which is land. Mart Independent School District serves the Mart city in terms of education. This city was once referred to as Willow Springs. It is an incorporated city that lies 8 miles east of Waco on State Highway 164. Settlement started shortly after the Civil War in 1870s. Mart City was granted a post office in1880.Thereafter, two schools, a church, cotton gins and two gristmills were established. In 1901, the city had its first bank launched.
