Oilton was formerly known as Torrecillas Towers because of the two limestone formations in the area when it became a station on the Texas-Mexican Railway. It is a census-designated place (CDP) in Webb County and located 32 miles east of Laredo, Texas. Specifically, it located on State Highway 359 thirty-two miles east of Laredo in southeastern Webb County. It was renamed to Oilton in 1922 when oil was discovered nearby. With a total area of 1.4 square miles, they reached a population of 307 in 2017. The Webb Consolidated Independent School District served its education and is home to the Oilton Elementary School. Van Es Ranch Airport (13TS) which has a 1 Runway is also found in Oilton.
