Knopp Branch Farm supplies its produce to top chefs and restaurants in Houston. Once family owned and operated, it has over the years evolved as a volunteer-operated farm that grows heirloom vegetables and fruits including heirloom tomatoes, eight varieties of eggplant, rare “cheddar” cauliflowers, among others. They choose crops and varieties prized for their incredible flavors.
Although not certified organic, the farm follows organic methods and don’t use chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Volunteers are invited to join to obtain hands-on organic farming experience, and learn more about it. One of their primary goals is to teach people the merits and advantages of organic farming.
