The Allison unincorporated community in the US is located in Wheeler County in the state of Texas. The community was founded in 1929 and named after R. H. Allison, the then general manager of the railway. By 1941, Allison had a population of 200. After the Second World War, the population had shrunk so much that by the year 2000, it had only managed to increase to 135. The 1970s saw Allison and its environs benefit from oil development and natural gas in the Panhandle-Hugoton field. Allison has a semi-arid climate, while its elevation is 2,605 feet above sea level.
