Miami is a city located in Roberts County in Texas. The town’s population was 597 as of the 2010 census. Miami is the county seat of Roberts County. The town was originally platted in the year 1887. When buildings were being established in the area the town’s population rose to 25 just one year after the town was founded. One year later Roberts County was founded and Parnell was the county seat until it was moved to Miami in 1898. The town’s peak population was 700 residents in the year 1915. Miami Independent School District distributes the town’s public education system.
