Alvarado is a US city located in Johnson County in the state of Texas. The 2010 census reported the city’s population as 3,785, an increase from the 3,288 reported in the 2000 census. The city’s climate ranges from cool winters to hot, humid summers. The main outdoor recreation spot is the Alvarado Park Lake that is situated three miles west of the city. Interestingly, Alvarado has no universities or colleges.
