Bovina is a city in Parmer County. This city was a Hay Hook camp operated by the XIT ranch. The earliest building on this ranch mainly served administrative functions. The Pecos and Northern Texas Railway pushed away through the farm in 1898. As a result, there was an installation of switches to ease the process of unloading cotton seeds. Before the name Bovina took effect, this city was known as Bull Town. The inspiration behind the name was the cattle's behavior to lie on railroad tracks. In 1899, Bull Town changed to a fancier name. Bovina during the establishment of a postal office.
