The Bronson unincorporated community is found in Sabine County in Texas. It is named after Samuel Bronson Cooper. The area’s first developer and settler was John Henry Kirby who settled here in 1895.In 1902, Kirby started a lumber company known as Kirby Lumber Company. The company once ran 13 sawmills and at the same time controlled over 300,000 acres of pinelands. In the same year a weekly newspaper — The Bronson Bulletin — and a post office were established. By 1910, Bronson’s population was estimated at 1,000. In the 1920s, the population peaked at about 1,200 as the construction of major highways commenced.
