The city of Mount Enterprise is situated in Rusk County in Texas. The town itself was named after its small elevation near the town and also after the Vinson brother’s enterprise who settled in 1832. The town actually came to be because of its promising ores in the area. Charles Vinson considered the mountain to be the “Iron Mountain” and he was not far off, more than 50% of the mountain’s brown ores consisted of iron. The town of Mount Enterprise had a total population of 447 as of the 2010 census. The town has a total area of 1.5 square miles according to the U.S Bureau.
