Naples is found in northeastern Morris County. The town developed around a station that was built through the area in 1880. The town was originally named Belden but was changed. Most of the merchants came from Wheatville which was three miles north from the railroad. The town became a shipping point and supply center. The main revenue was ranching and farming. After World War II, Naples continued to be an important trade center for area farmers, but as the town began to grow many residents acquired industrial jobs elsewhere. The City of Naples hosts the annual Watermelon Festival on the last weekend of July.
