Simms is an unincorporated community in Bowie County, Texas, United States. The population is about 1700 according to the last census and even though the city is unincorporated (and thus technically not a city) it has a zip code of its own. The picnic area on US 67 just east of Simms was developed in the Depression era. The Simms Independent School District serves area students. It was named after G.W. Simms a local resident who managed to secure the post office for the community in 1890.
