Seminole is a city in and the county seat of Gaines County in Texas, United States. It has about 6.400 residents according to the last census. The land for Seminole was donated by nonresident landowners to become the county seat for Gaines County. The first settlers came to the city in 1906. The city is mostly known for the country stars born in it. Tanya Tucker, country music artist, 2x 2020 Grammy winner, was born in Seminole and so was Larry Gatlin, country and gospel music artist, was born in Seminole.
