Canton is found in the east of Texas. First Monday Trade Days is well-known in Canton. It is the largest flea market in the world, held in Canton Civic Center. Another event is Tailwind Regional Balloon Festival, hosted annually. Between 2003 and 2007, Canton hosted the United States Equestrian Drill Championship. The first settlement was made in 1850. That same year, the first district courthouse and a post office were established. Canton has managed to overcome four tornadoes in 2017 and two more tornadoes in 2019. According to the 2018 census, it is estimated that Canton has 3,869 people.
