Braman Winery is a combined winery and brewery that has a "rustic, industrial, and masculine" environment on a "large building with lots of patio seating". "They don't have a kitchen but a food truck is at the entrance or you can bring your food in". "Their beer is really good and their red wine is good" too. Breaking Brew Meadery is a family-owned brew meadery and is the first mead taproom located in Dallas, Texas. It can be found "in an industrial-looking strip mall" and "it could be hard to find if you aren't watching out for the signs pointing to the meadery". This is a "great place to relax" with "great service and super nice owners too". "If you have never tried meads before, this is the place to get your first and learn more about the process and how meads got their taste". Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic beverages which is fermented from honey.  There are "dry, fruity, or hoppy meads" such as the "Ginger Bear" and "Raspberry Beret". They have "light, flavorful, gluten-free" meads such as the "Comb Over" and the "Bee Sting". You can bring a growler and discount its cost on your next refill. They offer flights too.

(512) Brewing Company is a microbrewery based in Austin offering over 30 craft beer varieties. The company is proud to use only the freshest local and organic ingredients while consciously controlling the brewing process up to distribution. The company is completely independent of the big brands, and features draft beers sold in reusable kegs. Instead of Bisphenol-A (BPA) lined aluminum, they serve their beers in durable glass. Perhaps a testament to their popularity, they were the largest buyers of organic malted barley in Texas in 2016. Catch them at over 715 locations around Texas. Even better, for $12 per person, drop by for their open house on Saturdays from noon to 4:00pm. The fee includes a tour of the brewery's facilities, 6 samples, and a logo glass. You can also attend one of their Cellar Sessions, an intimate live music session filmed at the brewery featuring a musical artist.

11 Below Brewing Company

11 Below Brewing Company currently offers 13 varieties of craft beer – so, no, their name does not refer to the excellent beers they brew in North Houston. Here’s a hint – their co-founders worked at Texas oilfields at some point, but their love for beers led them to brewing beers instead. Four out of the 13 varieties they brew are available all year round, while the rest are seasonal offerings or specials so call ahead before heading out the door. All are available on draft while a selection is available in 12 oz cans at your favorite retailers. Oh – and all have clever names with “best paired with” recommendations. The company has a tasting room open to the public. Hours are Thursdays to Fridays from 5pm to 9pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 9pm.  Admission is free, and they’re also available for private events.

12 Fox Beer Co.

Joe and Aaron are army buddies and co-founders of 12 Fox Beer Co. After being stationed in Germany where they got to develop a taste for authentic German beers, both went their separate ways. Having reconnected years later, they decide to establish their own small batch, high-quality European master-crafted beer. They keep things simple – just like the Germans – by using single-sourced malt. And what’s German beer without a biergarten? With their wives' help, they opened one in the Fall of 2018, and now operate a tap room called The Fox Hole in Dripping Springs. Aaron’s wife Melissa creates delicious baked goods from spent grains for the guests. Both couples are busy transforming a Hill County backroad into a German biergarten and giving the community a unique experience. 12 Fox is family- and pet-friendly with a large covered patio, outdoor biergarten, kids’ play area, and small dog park. It also serves other drinks like wine, cider, and mead.

3 Nations Brewing Co.

3 Nations Brewing Co. Founder and brewmaster Gavin Secchi and his four partners combine ancient European brewing traditions with American innovation and ingenuity to come up with its line of craft beers. Their brewing process is “a fresh take on old world style” and launched mainstay beers American Wit and GPA, a German pale ale. Founded in 2015, they’ve since expanded the lineup to include, among others, Texas Gold, Mango Smash IPA, Bull’s Brown Ale, and Haze Wizard IPA. The brewery is celebrating new milestones with a win as Best Brewery in Dallas by the Dallas Observer, and the brewery's move in October 2019 to the Historic Downtown Carrollton (just 1.5 miles from their current location at Farmers Branch). The new facility includes a spacious taproom, patio, and a private events room.  The taproom will also double up as a test market serving new brews.

4J Brewing Company

4J Brewing Company is a family-owned craft nano-brewery owned and operated by four siblings. The “J” refers to their names – Jessica, Jackie, Joana, and Jennifer. They currently offer five varieties of craft beers ranging from 5.1% to 6.7% (plus non-alcoholic root beer!). This 100% female-owned and female-brewed operation is based in the Houston/Spring Branch area and serves Amber Ale, Blonde Ale, India Pale Ale, Pale Ale, and American Stout at their taproom. The 4J’s beers are only available at their taproom. The siblings have decorated the place with many repurposed items from the 4J Ranch. (Mom and Dad also own 4J Ranch in Blue, Texas.) They also accept special private events at the taproom and offer memberships into the 4J Ladies. The 4J Ladies hold monthly events on the last Thursday of each month, and usually invite female business owners to talk about their expertise.

4th Tap Brewing Cooperative

The 4th Tap Brewing Cooperative is Texas’ first worker-owned brewery, and one of the first in the U.S.  It took the founders 6 years of planning, and they finally opened in November 2015. Today, each person you see making, selling, or serving their delicious craft beers owns a piece of 4th Tap. The brewery is located in north Austin. The taproom was “designed to bring together [the] neighborhood… and share 4th Tap’s love of beer, art, music, and much more.” And, wrestling is one of those “much more”. The taproom is open daily and there’s a wrestling ring in the back for occasional wrestling matches. “Party World Rasslin’” (PWR) is one of the special events aligned with their mantra “Brew. Share. Party. Repeat.” There are three “core beer line-up” and several others on seasonal rotation at the taproom. Some of the varieties come in cans and are available for purchase.
