Bluegrove is a Clay County unincorporated community. Bluegrove got its name from oak trees, which appeared to be blue at different times. The area is situated on Henettas’s southeast along the form to market road. In 1878, the Blugrove Baptist Church came into operation. This church was an establishment of the families living in the area. The founder of the church, J.L. Russell, was among the first settlers in this area before developments. Bluegrove cemetery is also part of Russell’s contribution of land for community support. Settling in this area started in 1882. Bluegrove received its post office in 1895, whose services are still available to date.
