Lueders is a city situated in both Jones and Shackleford counties in Texas. At the 2010 census, the city’s population was 346. Lueders and Frederick fought in the Texas Revolution together and were granted the land as a gift. The early settlement of the area began in 1877. W.J. Harrington was the first settler of the town. Webb and Hill Land and Cattle company only started serious development in 1899. Texas Central Railroad came just one year later to the town. The town’s post office was granted in 1902. Lueders had a very respectable population of around 700 residents in 1915 but it started to diminish ever since to what it is today.
