The unincorporated community of Reagan is located at the junction of Farm Road 413 and State Highway 6. The area was established in 1873. The establishment came after the completion of Waco and Northwestern Railroad between Ross and Bremond. A post office opened in the area in 1873. The post office was named after William Reason Reagan, who donated the land on which the townsite sits. In the mid-1880s, the area had cotton gins, hotels, general stores, and two gristmills. Reagan had a newspaper by 1890. In 1948, the schools in this community were consolidated with Marlin Independent School District.
